About I'm OK and how we write our guides
I'm OK is a small, independent UK service. We send reminders on WhatsApp to the people you love, and let you know when they're done.
Why we built it
Most of us have someone we worry about remembering things: a parent with tablets to take, a partner with a busy week, a teenager who forgets to text when they're home. Phone alarms only remind the person holding the phone. I'm OK reminds the person who needs it, on the app they already use, and tells you when it's done. It started as a way to look after our own families.
How we write our guides
- We write for real people with real problems, in plain English. If a guide doesn't help you do something, we haven't done our job.
- We check facts against trusted, original sources such as the NHS, Age UK, Carers UK, the Alzheimer's Society, the Health and Safety Executive and GOV.UK, and we link to them so you can check too.
- We never give medical advice. Anything about medicines or health points you to your GP, pharmacist or NHS 111.
- We don't invent statistics, reviews or quotes.
- We review guides regularly and show the date each one was last updated.
- Some guides mention I'm OK where it genuinely helps. We say so plainly and we also cover other options fairly.
What I'm OK is not
I'm OK is not a medical, care or emergency service. In an emergency, always call 999.
